化石発掘

Diplodocus is one of the most easily recognized dinosaurs. It has a huge body, a long neck and tail, and strong limbs. It was considered the longest dinosaur many years ago. Its size is enough to deter (possibly contemporaneous) predators such as Allosaurus and hornnose dragons found in the same stratum.

Diplodocus is longer than confused dragon and Brachiosaurus, but its head and tail are very long, its trunk is very short and thin, so its weight is not heavy. Although Diplodocus's neck is long, its neck bone is small and tough, so Diplodocus's neck can't bend freely like plesiosaur. Brachiosaurus and Diplodocus had nostrils on their heads.
